Description
The Kowloon East Region under Hong Kong Police Force was previously the only land region which did not have its own headquarters building to accommodate its various units. The development of the new integrated complex aimed to re-accommodate the scattered units for overall operations, criminal investigations, traffic management, community relations and administrative matters for the Kowloon East Region and overseeing the daily local policing at regional, district and divisional levels. Co-locating various units under the proposed integrated complex will enable the Hong Kong Police Force to improve its operational efficiency to cope with future policing challenges to be brought about by the new development and transformation of Kowloon East.
The integrated complex comprises the following major units and facilities:-
(i) Kowloon East Regional Headquarters units (Administration Wing, Operations Wing, Crime Unit and Traffic Unit) and two operational units i.e. Emergency Unit and Police Tactical Unit;
(ii) Railway District Headquarters;
(iii) Kowloon East Auxiliary Headquarters Unit;
(iv) Indoor Firing Range;
(v) Ngau Tau Kok Divisional Police Station;
(vi) Provision of ancillary facilities including armouries, dangerous goods storage facilities, dog kennels, petrol filling station, parade and inspection area, changing rooms, dining and physical training facilities, etc.; and
(vii) Carpark for Hong Kong Police Force´s vehicles.
